On my 6x6 Anti-Aging Skin Care program (comes as a bonus gift with my Anti-Aging Fitness Program) I recommended to avoid exposure to the sun without a sunblock. But that doesn’t mean you avoid the sun at all. The sun is powerful medicine. When the sun strikes your skin, it produces vitamin D. We used to believe that the only purpose of vitamin D was to help your body absorb bone-strengthening calcium. We now know that vitamin D does much more than that. A vitamin D deficiency is clearly linked to an increased risk of cancer, heart disease, Type-1 and Type-2 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, depression, osteoporosis, digestive disorders, arthritis, compromised immunity, and a host of other ailments. To achieve optimal health, you must have optimal vitamin D levels. Very few foods have any appreciable amount of vitamin D. That's why the sun is your best source – just as nature intended. However, if you're not able to get a moderate amount of sunlight on a regular basis, you can (and should) supplement with cod liver oil, the richest food source of vitamin D.
