Is Your Deodorant Giving You Cancer?

By: Dov Oshri

Last week I wrote that most people would not knowingly swallow harmful chemicals ... but they readily spread them all over their body. Most fragrances, detergents, fabric softeners, and personal care products are full of synthetic, petroleum-based compounds. Many of these are allergenic and carcinogenic, or they mimic the body's hormones and disrupt hormonal function. I recommended you to stick all-natural and every week you get a new tip that will a significant long term impact on your health.

The majority of cosmetics, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, and fabric softeners contain chemicals that mimic the hormone estrogen. These xenoestrogens disrupt hormonal function and can cause cancer. A particular class of these chemicals, parabens, are almost always present in these products. Parabens have been found in cancer tissue.

Applying a chemical directly to your skin can, in some cases, produce an effect much stronger than a chemical you ingest. That's because your liver metabolizes everything you eat - but anything applied to your skin is absorbed into your blood before your liver has a chance to detoxify it.

How do you protect yourself? Buy personal care products that are made primarily with natural ingredients, not chemicals. And avoid any with the word "paraben" in the ingredients. Many deodorants also contain aluminum chlorohydrate, a harmful chemical still found in 85% of deodorants on the market.

I’ve never thought that I would stop using a deodorant because I was concerned about my body odor, especially living in the tropics. But a few months ago I got rid of my commercial deodorant and switched to natural Crystal Deodorant Deodorant.

Crystal Deodorant, the all natural alternative to mainstream deodorants, is hypoallergenic, fragrance free, non-sticky, non-staining, and is made of 100% natural mineral salts with no artificial coloring or ingredients. It is free of chemicals and dyes and contains NO Aluminum Chlorohydrate, helping you stay odor-free safely and naturally. Crystal Deodorant features physically large potassium or ammonium alum molecules and are not absorbed into the skin/blood.
