If you're one of those people who HAS to have every cologne or perfume featured in US Weekly or OK, you already know how expensive it can get. Some of the celebrities perfumes cost over hundred dollars for a single ounce and if you buy the lotions, powders, and everything else included, you're looking at a huge monthly bill. Fortunately, buying name-brand perfumes doesn't require you to donate a kidney if you just follow some simple guidelines. First lesson, avoid the department stores. In case you somehow missed this news flash, the department stores will cost more 99.9% of the time. Why? Because they have to mark it up more to make profit. Instead, try a perfume outlet. You should be able to find a perfume outlet in you local mall, but if you don't you're going to need to find a map and track down your nearest outlet mall. Hop in the car and make the drive down there...you won't regret it. Perfume outlets offer a substantial savings, even if they don't offer the selection that a department store does. All in all, it's still a good savings for those just interested in buying the perfume. Most people avoid perfume outlets because they're scared of getting a knock off. A knock off perfume will smell just like its counterpart, but it has a higher alcohol content so it the perfume doesn't last as long, on your wrist or in the bottle. If you're curious, try a bit on and see if it lasts for a while. If it's faded by the time you're done shopping, it might not be the real deal. Discount stores that sell department store seconds and last year's fashions are also great places to find cheap perfume. You can always find a wide selection of designer perfume cheap at stores such as Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx. Because these perfumes are not locked behind cosmetic counters, always open the box to make sure that you are buying a full bottle. Online auction sites such as eBay are great places to find fantastic deals on name brand perfume. Many people will sell a perfume that they got as a gift, but that they don't particularly like on auction sites. Usually, these sellers are just happy to get any amount of money for the perfume that they don't want and you can score very expensive fragrances at extremely low prices. Never pay full price for designer perfume. You can buy the best brands of perfume cheap, if you know the right places to look. The easiest way I've found so far is the discount perfume store. It's a store with tons of designer perfumes all in one place, all with low shipping, and best of all, discounted prices (up to 80%). Example - I found a Bvlgari perfume at a popular department store for $130 and then I found that same perfume at a discount perfume store for $53. That's a difference of nearly $100!
