Aerobics Exercise in Conjunction With Anaerobic Exercise

Obtaining your exercise is always crucial. This ought to be something which you already acknowledge, but what you might not know is which type of exercise you are getting is just as significant as actually getting it. If you are concerned about aerobic exercise coupled with anaerobic exercise and you do not recognize what kinds of exercise you should be performing, you really do need to determine with your doctor, because after all, your doctor knows the most about your body also, what you can do to feel and appear better about yourself. Your doctor can formulate the correct combination of aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise to make sure that you are getting sufficient of both forms of exercise in your every day routine. Put briefly, aerobic exercise will help you to build heart health and lung health and burn fat, while anaerobic exercise will help you build muscle.

Remember that it's generally not a good idea to only get one form of exercise, irrespective of how strong you think you are. In order to be totally healthy you have to, without a doubt, be sure that you are acquiring aerobic exercise together with anaerobic exercise to have an all-round level of health. This can truly be your best shot at being completely healthy, since it is only by having both types of exercise that you are permitting your body to have total command over its movements and to be fully in control of how healthy you are. Remember always that aerobic exercise along with anaerobic exercise is the best way to go - you don't want to leave one type out.

Remember also, before commencing any anaerobic activity to stretch your muscles to loosen them off and warm them up. A tight and cold muscle can strain and tear quicker than a previously stretched and warmed muscle.

The best way to get there and avoiding the pitfalls that so many others fell into would be to find someone you would like to model after, a Mentor of sort that will help you, and your employees get to the next level

An Order of Spaghetti 

 A doctor was having an affair with his nurse. Shortly afterward, she told him
she was pregnant. Not wanting his wife to know, he gave the nurse a sum of money
and asked her to go to Italy and have the baby there.

''But how will I let you know the baby is born?'' she asked. He replied,
''Just send me a postcard and write 'spaghetti' on the back. I'll take care of
expenses.''

Not knowing what else to do, the nurse took the money and flew to Italy.
Six months went by and then one day the doctor's wife called him at the office
and explained, ''Dear, you received a very strange postcard in the mail today
from Europe, and I don't understand what it means.''

The doctor said, ''Just wait until I get home and I will explain it to you.''

Later that evening, the doctor came home, read the postcard, fell to the floor
with a heart attack. Paramedics rushed him to the ER. The lead medic stayed back
to comfort the wife. He asked what trauma had precipitated the cardiac arrest.
So the wife picked up the card and read, ''Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti,
Spaghetti - Two with sausage and meatballs, two without.'''

The Power Of Focus

In today’s world we seem to be forced to rush around in everything we do. For the majority of people, most days follow the same routine. It doesn’t matter if you are a business owner, employee, stay at home mom, or a full time college student. The morning starts off with your feet hitting the floor running. Rush, rush, rush. The more you get done, the more it seems you have to do.

Are you tired of living this kind of life?

Why is it that the things in life that you really want to get done always seem to be the things that you never get close to?

The answer is: Focus.

This one word, if acted upon correctly, could change your life dramatically.

First, let’s look at a simple example of how most people allow themselves to lose focus. Let’s say that it is lunchtime and you want to read a book.

You go to a small café and order a nice sandwich. You sit down at your table with your lunch and the book, which you have been looking forward to reading all day.

You take a bite of your sandwich and open your book to begin reading. You have only read half a page when all of a sudden a very noisy group of people come into the café, which makes it very difficult for you to concentrate on your book.

After about 5 minutes, you are finally able to ignore the noisy group and get back to reading. You are on the next page when your mobile phone rings. It’s one of your friends that you are supposed to be getting together with later that night. You chat to them for about 5 minutes.

Then you find where you left off reading when the waitress comes over and starts clearing off your table, which distracts you once again. A few minutes later, a family member rings you, and this conversation takes up another 5 minutes.

Before you know it it’s time to start heading back to work and you have only read a page and a half!

Now, this is a very simplistic example but I believe it shows the basic reasons why people don’t accomplish the things they want to get done.

So how do you use the power of focus to get things done properly?

1. Select a specific time frame and a length of time.

Set the time that works best for you. This may be in the morning, lunchtime, or once all of your family has gone to sleep. Also pick a length of time. Thirty minutes, forty-five minutes, or an hour, whatever works best for you. By setting a specific time frame and a length of time, you make sure that this time is free from all distractions and that you don’t cut into a time when you need to be doing something else.

2. Select a place.

Make sure that the place you select is conducive to what you want to do. If you need a quiet place, don’t go somewhere that has the potential of getting noisy. If you want to network, go someplace where you will be in contact with the right people. It is very easy to lose focus of what you are doing if you are not in the right setting.

3. Select a purpose.

If you don’t have a purpose you will never get anything done. Select one or two things as your purpose. Remember, it’s all about focus. Don’t try to cram everything in all at once. If you want to get several things done, set up a different day for each one.

4. DON’T GET DISTRACTED

This is the most important point. Don’t set up a time that will prevent you from focusing. Don’t choose a location that will prevent you from focusing. Don’t try to do too many things at once, which will cause you to lose your focus.

If your phone rings, let it go to voice mail. As long people know you will call them back, most of them will not mind leaving you a message.

Turn off your T.V. Unless your purpose requires you to watch something, the T.V. will only distract you.

Make it known that you are not to be disturbed during this time. Children, co-workers, and family can be some of the biggest distractions. Don’t let them ruin your focus.

As you begin to implement the power of focus, you will start to see yourself accomplishing more. Just imagine what one hour a day of focused self-improvement will do for you in a year’s time.

How many novels could you read in a year? How much quality time with your kids will this allow you to have? How many more sales calls could you make?

The power of focus can change your life.

Where Are You On The Emotional Intelligence Continuum?

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE (EI) is said to be the combination of:
  • Self-awareness;
  • Self-management;
  • Social awareness - empathy; and,
  • Relationship management.
Where are you on the Self-Social Awareness / Self-Relationship Management Continuum? Do you...

1. Hurt people at will and not think any more about it or say sorry. The basic attitude is, 'It's their fault.' This is 'unconscious incompetence.' In other words, "You don't know what you don't know." It's ignorance either by choice or not.

2. Hurt people at will, then regret it perhaps a day later, but still not say sorry. You live with the ill feeling, and by virtue of your lack of action you leave 'them' with it too. This is the beginnings of 'conscious incompetence.' Suddenly you're becoming more socially aware. Yet, you're still unable to do anything about it.

3. Hurt people "unintentionally" and see it basically straight away, but fumble with the situation. You see you're wrong but can't help them or you with resolution.  You feel guilty. You are still in the 'consciously incompetent' stage.

4. Hurt people without meaning to and regret it straight away, and then you actually do something to remedy it; though perhaps later. This is the beginning of the transition from 'conscious incompetence' to 'conscious competence' in the realm of social awareness and self-management.

5. Adjust as you're about to unintentionally hurt someone. Before you hurt them, you pull yourself (and your proposed speech or action) back. In other words, you're 'consciously competent' with others' feelings. You catch the words as or before they escape forever.

6. Not hurt others. You're so aware most of the time that essentially others' feelings are safe with you. You could consider yourself 'unconsciously competent.' Another way of putting it would be, you've mastered the skill of reflecting in the moment.

If you featured mainly in the 5/6 range you are demonstrating what could be called 'distinctive' competence in Emotional Intelligence. You have groomed a character that is rare these days. Your self-awareness and social competence is sought after, and it leaves its impression on others; they can't help but notice 'you are different.' You are said to be respectful, friendly, mature, and considerate. If you're in this bracket you still need to maintain your EI, however.

It's something to strive for in life. EI, unlike most other forms of intelligence, can be developed. It can be perfected more and more. In theory, and by virtue of the fact we're human, there's no limit to how much our EI might be developed. Now, if you give yourself more of a 3/4 rating you're certainly on the right track, but you might need to search for ways to develop your EI further, for instance, through a leadership program, mentoring, or reading EI-style books.

There are literally millions of places to get good EI material to 'feed on' these days. As you learn and grow you'll find yourself developing a sense of discernment for this material, knowing instinctually what's good and what's not so good. Simply exercise choice. Less is best. Good quality material is good to meditate and muse on. Daniel Goleman (1995, 1998) is one of the foremost gurus on the subject.

It's been said that you can have four (4) PhD's and still not know really a thing about EI. And it's true unfortunately. What is wonderful however is when the much learned person applies the learning potential in developing themselves in an entirely different way, the personal EI way. Conversely, the person who develops EI can also deploy these skills in the development of knowledge. It's then only a matter of time before you can earn that degree or doctorate you've always wanted!

Here's a challenge I give to both academics and novices alike, especially those who may have reached dizzy heights. It's to enter into a personal growth journey. And it's to not only improve their own 'quality' of life, but it's also to enhance others' lives so much through the quality of education, character and influence they have. Powerful people must understand the power of their influence. It needs to be used positively. It needs to be used to serve people.

I believe we've failed as human beings if we haven't spent our lives driving toward achieving the "6" rating on this scale; to become unconsciously competent at treating others with irrefutable and utmost respect; and for it to be first, not second nature.

When we reach 'this place,' we are nothing short of inspiring to those around us, and this effect is infectious. Love oozes out of every situation and we feel simply alive! Can you imagine working or living in an environment where everyone is on the "same 'EI' page?" I think that would be the pinnacle of living.

Let me give you an example of this type of environment in real life, though an example from the ancient Near East, during the first Century of the Common Era.

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.(Acts 2:42-47 NIV)

What do you think? Could it be that God is the missing dimension in developing EI? Can it be that God can give the right drive and motivation for loving and serving our fellow human beings? Is it that the person of Jesus, no matter what you currently think of him, is the way to the humility, generosity, and selflessness that's required in your life to attain a higher level of EI?

It's such a pity to see an otherwise fully developed older person who's emotionally unintelligent. Not only does it affect them personally, but it has widespread ramifications for anyone close to them; in the extreme cases it's responsible for damage and abuse that leaves a mark on the affected lives of loved ones.

If you want success and a future for your loved ones it's foreboding to not commit to EI from today!

Seduction, Not Just a Set of Skills but a Life Style Change

The art of seduction is a topic which has been studied since ancient times, the attraction between man and woman (etc.!) seems to drive people regardless of their intellectual state. Societies and even empires have been ruled by "desire" a clear example was Babylon which as we all know was famous for their, shall we say "sexy parties".

If we think hard about it, man is driven by emotions and those strong emotions trigger certain physical responses. If we think in terms of basic instincts, we, as human beings only differ from animals by our cognitive ability everything else is ruled by our primitive brain, that is why in the game of "seduction" our basic instincts kick in. Instincts are simply "hard-coded programs" in our brain which serve important functions such as: survival, reproduction, etc. Since they are already in our brain we do not need to learn them, a good example of basic instincts can be seen in normal animal behavior and fixed action patterns.

Reproduction is undoubtedly one of our instincts but as we have seen, even in the animal kingdom, the right to procreate or reproduce has to be earned through as series of physical dances or rituals in order to attract a partner, so the fact that we "can reproduce" doesn't always mean that "we will have a guaranteed partner to do it with".

The whole seduction ritual, in terms of humans, starts by invisible chemical reactions through pheromones which trigger our body to release other chemicals throughout our body which makes us feel "fuzzy" and attracted to another person. In humans there is also a second set of stimuli transmitted to the opposite sex, it could be visual, or auditory Knowing how attraction works will allows us to gain a better understanding to the way "seduction works".

A small percent of humans have fully mastered the art of seduction and have become extremely successful not only in relationships but in business as well; that is why seduction doesn't only involve a set of skills it can change someone's life entirely. We have established that people act on emotions and that is precisely why businesses rely on this basic method to advertise and market their products to people. Think about it, would you buy a car because of the "brand"? or because you know that if you have a car in particular you will more likely to "impress" someone of the opposite sex, thus earning you better odds to "get lucky"

An important factor which needs to be realized in order to learn the art of seduction is that people are driven by emotions and the "emotions" triggered when someone is attracted or aroused by another person are extremely strong; they can make us spend 80K on a car or simply say "Yes!" to important business decisions.
