Top 4 Ways To Make
Fitness Fun For You
By: Christopher C.
Do you
wake up every morning anxious as heck to start your fitness training
routine?
Do you
come home from a hard day’s work and look forward to focus on your
nightly workout session, or some family fun fitness?
Do you?
Well, you
should?
In fact,
you should be fired up!
Don’t
laugh……….I’m serious.
Exercising
and fitness should be something that you can’t wait to do!
Other than
the many documented benefits of exercise (and the many that I have
talked about, and will continue to talk about)………..you should feel
refreshed to do something different during the day and something that
will directly benefit you and your life.
Your
fitness routine should not be “routine”…if you catch my drift.
Make it
different, make it challenging, and test yourself………
Now that
is fun.
Ok, on to
the specifics…
I’m going
to give you 4 EASY ways to make your exercise regimen fun for you……..
Here
goes…….
1.Do
something fun as your workout……….not to make this sound too simplified,
but your workout should not be the same thing everyday. Nor should it
be a trip to the gym every other day seeing how much bench press you
can throw up. Your routine should be varied………from bodyweight
exercises, to rock climbing, to running/walking hills, to sprinting
etc. Make it fun and make it exciting……you will come back for more,
much more.
2.Challenge
yourself – Let me tell you, doing the same routine (i.e. bench press,
arm curls, tricep extensions, etc. etc.) will BORE you quickly. When
you are BORED, you get complacent, which means your workouts are less
intense, which means you are not focusing on your muscles, which means
you might as well go back home and lay on your couch with some greasy
potato chips because you are wasting your time. If you can only do 8
pullups, try to do 9 (even if you have to cheat a little to get to
9)…test yourself, make challenges for yourself, and make everything a
game. Try and see if you can 1up yourself every workout (in some way,
large or small). You will be amazed at what you can do.
3.Focus on
your end goal – I can assure you……..if you lull around every workout
and say things to yourself like “it’s gonna take me forever to get in
shape”, and “I’ll never look like him/her, that’ll take too long”, well
your just gonna make yourself depressed. EXERCISE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO
CAUSE DEPRESSION, lol! Exercise naturally makes you feel good, and puts
you in a better mood…take advantage of that. Focus every workout on how
GREAT you’re going too look now and in the future. Be your own
motivational speaker. And SURELY don’t worry about what others think of
you. We don’t care about them.
4.Workout
with a friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife etc…..(by the way,
working out together makes for a great date). This is a great way to
keep you motivated, especially when you see someone you care for
working out just as hard or harder than you. Encourage each other, help
each other, and push each other. Get together with the family, and have
some family fun fitness time together. Here’s another free tip: If you
really want to strive for success, workout with people who know MORE
than you. That way, you can ask questions and LEARN along the way. One
thing that I found out is, people LOVE to talk about themselves
(especially fitness), and tell you what they are doing. Use this to
your advantage.
Always
remember that you have to exercise CONSISTENTLY (keep up with your
fitness training routine), you cannot expect to follow my instructions,
yet only exercise once a week. That will never work, you have to have
discipline, you have to be consistent, and great things will happen.
Talk to you soon.

Forgotten Health And
Nutrition Secrets
By:
Jeannie Crabtree
Now days
so many people live in a fast paced existence that leaves them reaching
for a fast meal from convenience stores and fast food restaurants.
Unhappily, these kind of foods, many of which incorporate chemicals and
food coloring, are harmful to health.
To cut out
the chemicals and preservatives for continued good health, means going
back to food in their natural state. Skip the pre-packaged and
pre-prepared foods as often as possible.
These fast
foods are not whole food giving the vitamins, minerals and enzymes
needed by your body. Sometimes what is eaten is not even real foods and
provide little nutrition to build or restore health.
You need
to take a look at what you eat and whether you are getting your health
and nutrition needs met. One health and nutrition secret is to use the
first-rate foods, grown organically if possible.
Eating a
balanced diet is genuinely the best way to ensure that you have good
health and good nutrition. Nutrition experts suggest that the daily
diet include so many servings from the five food groups of breads and
cereals, vegetables, fruits, milk, meat/protein such as poultry, fish,
beans, eggs and nuts. Fats would be included, but used sparingly.
People
living 50 to 100 years ago usually ate that way all the time, gaining
nutrition from whole grain foods, vegetables and fruits grown and eaten
fresh from the garden, or sold locally. They generally ate smaller
amounts of meat or chose meals with beans, peas and other legumes.
Are you
one of the people that consider that if you don t eat well, you can
just pop a vitamin pill and make up for it? Here is an additional
health and nutrition secret: your body absorbs vitamins and minerals
found in foods more readily than those found in vitamin pills.
Make
vegetables, specially leafy green vegetables very dominant in your diet
for a natural source of the vitamins and minerals that you must have
for good health. Without this good source of nutrition, it is very hard
to have good health. Choose genuine food over vitamins, then fill in if
you think you are lacking with a super food powder.
Put this
health and nutrition secret to work in your daily life and you will
find over time that you are taking your health to a new level, rather
than sacrificing your health because of poor or empty nutrition.

An Introduction to
Magnetic Jewelry And Its Benefits Part 2
By: Kurt
Schmitt and Cindy Jamason
Our
part 1
discussion on magnetic jewelry was focused on the basics, including
what this type of jewelry is made of. We talked about what types of
jewelry you'll find available for sale, and the fact that some magnets
are man-made and some are natural. We also covered the popularity of
magnetic therapy world wide, and how it is used for pain relief.
In this
second part of our discussion, I'll cover some of the theories on how
magnetic therapy relieves pain and inflammation. I'll also talk about
the reported benefits, some warnings, and what to look for before you
buy.
If you're
just learning about magnetic jewelry for the first time, you're
probably starting to realize why so many people use it. If you've been
considering magnetic jewelry for a while, you already know that pain
relief may be just a bracelet or anklet away. Magnetic Jewelry is
recognized for reducing pain due to injuries, old or new, arthritis,
carpal tunnel syndrome, and during or after athletic activities.
Some
research shows that pain is often linked with poor circulation and a
lack of oxygen in the affected area. When there's swelling, fluids are
trapped in the affected area and cell wastes are not carried away as
efficiently as they should be. It's been said that the magnets in the
jewelry help to relieve pain and inflammation by increasing blood flow
to the affected area.
Purchase
and use your magnetic jewelry properly. Magnetic therapy experts say
that many people simply are not using these products in the right way.
Magnetic
bracelets are intended to relieve muscle and joint pain in the fingers,
hands, wrists, elbows, arms and shoulders. Magnetic necklaces are
designed to relieve muscle and joint pain in the shoulders and upper
back, as well as relieve headaches. Anklets are intended to work the
lower part of the body including the feet, ankles, legs, and possibly
the hips.
Magnetic
earringsare used to relieve pain in the ears, neck, and jaw.Sometimes
they are used for headaches as well. Magnetic rings are used for pain
relief in the fingers and hands. With respect to earrings and rings,
however, either a bracelet or a necklace might be a better choice.
Your best
bet for effectiveness is to always you buy the jewelry with the
strongest and largest number of magnets available. Wear your jewelry as
close to the skin as possible so the magnetic field can penetrate,
without it being too tight. Always ensure that you wear the jewelry as
close to the pain as possible. So, don't buy a bracelet for leg pain.
Wear the magnets 24 hours per day, 7 days per week until the pain is
gone so that you experience continuous benefits.
A wide
variety of health benefits have been attributed to magnetic jewelry.
Unfortunately, a number of less than legitimate businesses have made
outrageous claims so beware. Some of the jewelry being sold is very low
quality, and the magnets may not be strong enough to provide the proper
benefits.
Most
people can wear magnetic jewelry with no problems, but you should check
with you doctor if you have a pacemaker, are pregnant, or have any
metal in your body. In addition, if you have other serious health
conditions, you may not be able to wear magnets. Obviously, the use of
magnets should never replace care by qualified medical professionals.
People who
have used magnets for healing report that they have had the following
benefits: fewer headaches, less pain and stiffness in their joints and
muscles, more restful sleep, reduced allergy symptoms, and an overall
feeling of well-being.
We have
many repeat customers, and many of these bring us new customers as
referrals. This positive response from hundreds of customers is on of
the best indications of effectiveness.
A number
of medical professionals started using and testing magnetic therapy on
their patients after having good personal results with magnetic
jewelry. They have discovered that many patients have experienced
substantial pain relief and increased functioning as a result of
wearing magnetic jewelry.
Magnetic
therapy is a widely used alternative pain relief method. The drawback,
however, is that it's difficult to deliver this therapy on a continuous
basis. Since you can take magnetic jewelry with you, this therapy can
work on the pain 24 hours per day. That, and the fact that it also can
be a stylish accessory, are two of the reasons it has become so popular.

Comic Relief
The
Veterinary Clinic
Glenn took his dog to the veterinary clinic, and laid its limp body on
the table. The doctor pulled out his stethoscope, listened to the dog's
chest for a moment, then shook his head sadly. "I'm sorry, but your dog
has passed away."
"What?" Glenn screamed. "You haven't even done any tests! I want
another opinion."
The vet left the room and returned in a few moments with a Labrador
Retriever. The Retriever sniffed the dog on the table carefully from
head to toe. Finally, the Retriever shook it's head and barked once
(meaning "dead and gone").
The vet took the Labrador away and returned a few minutes later with a
cat, which also sniffed carefully over the dog on the table before
shaking its head and saying, "Meow" (meaning "he's gone").
After the cat jumped off the table, the vet handed Glenn a bill for
$600. The man shook the bill at the vet. "$600!!!! Just to tell me my
dog is dead?!!! That's outrageous!"
The vet explained. "If you had taken my word for it, the charge would
have been $50, but with the Lab work and the cat scan...."
Osteoarthritis - what
causes it and how can you prevent it?
By:
Dr.
Steven Trembecki
Osteoarthritis
is the gradual process in which the joint surfaces - the cartilage and
the bone itself deteriorate and break down. For this reason it is
currently considered a degenerative joint disease.
Calling it
osteoarthritis is actually rather inaccurate, since "-itis" suggests an
inflamatory condition whereas, in fact, the joint is not inflamed at
all. Instead, the term "degenerative joint disease" (DJD) is much more
accurate and preferred.
Clinical
features of degenerative joint disease may include crepitus (grinding
sound), pain, stiffness, and deformity. The stiffness associated with
degenerative joint disease often goes through a "gelling" period. What
this entails is stiffness upon waking from sleep then, as the person
moves around, the stiffness begins to subside.
There are
two main categories of degenerative joint disease: primary and
secondary. Primary DJD means that the degeneration has no direct link
to an incident of trauma or other disease process. The degeneration has
an insidious onset. Secondary degenerative joint disease entails a
known cause for the onset of the DJD. This may be the result of trauma
or another disease process.
Some
experts believe that the main cause of primary osteoarthritis is a
problem with the movement of the joint - either too much or too little.
Over-stretching
your joints, for example by poor posture or by repeatedly "popping"
your knuckles, my cause the joint's ligaments to become loose which
may, in turn, result in too much laxity and movement in the joint.
This then
causes excessive wear on the cartilage, rather like having a loose
wheel on a vehicle. The cartilage gradually wears down, and develops a
rough surface, which is what then causes that grinding sound
(crepitus). Since the cartilage serves as a shock absorber for the
joint, its gradual destruction means less protection for the joint, and
so more damage occurs.
Too little
joint movement is just as bad. The joint needs nutrition to maintain
itself. But, since it has no direct blood supply, it depends on the
transfer of nutrients across the joint capsule - and this depends on
sufficient joint movement to wash it across. Too little nutrition can
result in degeneration and thus osteoarthritis.
Because
the joint needs a certain amount of regular movement to maintain health
nutrition inside the joint capsule, most health professionals try to
avoid periods of joint immobilization, eg through traction, unless
absolutely critical.
From this
it is clear what the best prevention is: keep your joints moving
regularly by exercise and proper stretches. Should you suffer an
injury, get it treated properly and quickly so that your joint is
laid-up for as short a time as possible before returning to normal (or
near-normal) movement.
Proper
exercise strengthens the muscles that support the joint, and so prevent
aberrant motion. Stretching those muscles and, if necessary, getting
the joint adjusted by a chiropractor, helps to maintain the motion that
allows for proper transfer of nutrients and waste products inside the
joint.
Even
though all this may not eliminate the risk of osteoarthritis -
especially if you have had some significant trauma to the joint - it
will certainly help to delay or slow down the degenerative process.
Connecting in Life
and in Business - Are you Connecting?
By:
Ellie
Drake
The
Principle of Connecting:
Most of us
want to know how to connect better with others in relationships of
every kind, including business relationships. We often feel the desire
to connect, but sadly realize that our attempts have not truly been
successful. However, we can all experience consistently satisfying
connections when we understand the hidden dynamics by which they are
ruled.
Connecting
occurs when one is simultaneously intra-connected and inter-connected.
Intra-connection
is the connection of one to oneself.
Inter-connection
is the connection of with others.
These must
occur at the same time, although the intra-connection is the foundation
of inter-connection, and must be cultivated in order for connection to
really take place.
Imagine
that our attempts to connect with others are like an iceberg.
The tip of
the iceberg represents what we say.
The
foundation of the iceberg, the base that holds the tip above the
surface of the ocean, is how we feel when we say what we say.
The
feeling beneath the words provides an emotional current that gets
infused within the words as they are spoken.
The reason
why we feel as we do is the point of origin of the feeling that becomes
infused into our attempt to connect.
A great
majority of the time, people are not aware of the true reason that
gives birth to their feelings. Because we mentally attach a reason to
the feeling based on past conditioning and programming, that reason no
longer reflects accurately who we are and what we desire in the present
moment.
Interestingly
enough, the tip of the iceberg is approximately 8% of the total formula
of connecting. The remaining 92% are the foundation of the iceberg, the
part that is underneath the water. Although we may not perceive this
92% with our five senses, we feel it through the multi-sensory
dimension of who we are.
A great
question to now ask yourself is “What is getting in the way of me being
intra-connected?” As you ponder this question, here is a wonderful
concept to embrace: You do not have to create connection with others.
Such connection already exists. Therefore, your responsibility is
simply to remove any emotional or spiritual debris that is getting in
its way.
To express
it in medical terms, we have become de-myelinated emotionally. Myelin
is a substance that surrounds many vital nerve pathways within our
bodies. It is like the insulation surrounding an electrical wire,
functioning to assure that the electricity is only delivered to the
place where we wish to make use of it. What we must do is re-myelinate
the emotional pathways that conduct the natural, pre-existing sense of
connection between our personal and social selves and our higher
Selves.
In essence
we just have to let go of whatever may be getting in the way of
communicating from the standpoint of who we already are. As we do, we
begin to notice that our sense of connection to others becomes easy to
feel, and we conduct all our relationships within the shelter of that
ease.

A
Man's Guide To
Buying Lingerie For His Lady
By:
Jessica Valentine
Most men
know nothing about picking out lingerie, which is understandable
because it can be confusing. What type of lingerie to buy, what size,
what color - how is a man to know? Here is a little guide to help you
when choosing lingerie for that special someone.
There are
a few things to consider before you go out. What does she like?
Remember that you will not be wearing this - she will and you should go
out with the intent on getting something she will like. If she is not
into lacey, tiny, see-through teddies, chances are if you buy that, she
will not be in much of a mood to wear it and you may never see it. So
keep what she likes in mind.
If you do
not know, check out her nightgown/lingerie drawer before you leave.
Check for material type (cotton, silk, etc.), colors, and most
importantly, size. She may be flattered if she wears a large and you
get her a small, but if she wears a small and you buy her a large, you
may find yourself in trouble. Avoid anything that says "control" on the
label. Those items are used to firm and flatten tummys and rears and
she would probably not appreciate receiving them as a gift.
Another
thing to remember is if the store offers to wrap the lingerie let them.
Dainty lingerie will look better in their wrapping than if you wrap it
in the paper left over from your cousin's birthday. Presentation is
part of the package with lingerie. Also, if you are uncomfortable in
the store, check out online stores that sell lingerie. You can always
start at Victoria's Secret, but most major department stores like Macys
and Nordstroms also sell lingerie. Final note - remember to keep your
receipt just in case it is the wrong style, size, or color.
Now, what
type of lingerie is available? Just about anything you can think of!
Ask yourself what the occasion is. Is this to let her know you love
her? If so, something crotchless or see-through probably will not send
that message. But, if it is for Valentine's Day or your anniversary,
something a little more risqué might be appreciated. Bras alone
have many different styles including push up, plunge, gel filled,
padded, under wire, seamless, backless, strapless, open cup, and
unpadded.
If you are
purchasing a bra and panty set, always check out what she has in her
drawer beforehand and definitely make note of the size - of both the
bra and panties. Most places sell at least one pair of panties that
match each bra, but some will sell several so you can mix and match. It
will help to know what type of panties she likes to wear too - thongs,
briefs, or high cut bikini.
When it
comes to sleepwear, it can be just as confusing. One type of sleepwear
is babydoll pajamas. They usually have very thin straps, a plunging V
neckline, and are very short with matching panties. You will find most
of these made out of silk or satin, materials that always make a woman
feel good about herself. But, if she feels her breasts are too big or
too small, or thinks her stomach is too big, you might want to avoid
babydoll pajamas.
There are
slips and chemises. Similar to the babydoll pajamas, these are a little
longer and a little better at concealing problem areas such as breasts,
butt or stomach. They too are usually made of silk or satin.
Gowns are
full-length versions of the babydoll. Many are see-through or lacey and
can help put your woman in the mood. Babydolls, slips, chemises, and
gowns may also come with a robe.
A pajama
set might not sound too sexy, but if it is silky, and buttons up the
front, it can make your woman feel very sexy, especially if she is a
plus size (size 18 or larger). Boxer sets have become very popular
lately. The tops are tight, with thin straps and usually a V neckline,
although there are boxer sets with normal t-shirt tops.
If you are
really looking for lingerie to spice up your love life, take a look at
Frederick's of Hollywood (available online). They have been selling
sexy lingerie for over 50 years. They have a wide variety of garter
belts, bustiers, corsets, teddies (similar to the babydoll, but one
piece), crotchless panties, and fishnet stockings - items that may not
be available at many stores that sell lingerie.
What type
of lingerie you should get your love depends a lot on her self-esteem.
Many big woman love sexy little teddies, but some will shy away from
them, for fear of exposing too much of themselves. Most stores sell
lingerie in plus sizes, which are a little less revealing. If she is
really athletic, a boxer set might be something she would like. Thin
women will look good in anything, but especially teddies, corsets, and
babydolls.
When
shopping for lingerie, try to keep in mind what she likes. If you
purchase something similar to the lingerie she already has and in
colors you know she likes, it will probably make her happy. But, keep
the receipt just in case!
